which buffalo gold should i buy?

looking long term, would i be better off buying the standard buffalo piece from APMEX or ordering the proof coin from the mint?

i will probabaly hold on to either until retirement 30-40 years from now. do you think the proof would be a better investment? also, would it be worth haveing NGC grade it?

Thats a tough call. I have been talking to my wife (who always seems to have more cash then me) about PM's for several months. Doesn't want to hear about it and wants to keep her nice FRN's. She sees the new buffalo gold coin on TV and wants one!! We debated about the proof versus the standard coin. We decided to get two of the regular ones as the mint amount will probably sell out fast and maybe worth a bit more premium than GAE's. The proof is tempting but if things go downhill maybe numismatics won't matter so much. Just my .02

Couldn't talk her into the 100 oz of silver I think she should have ordered too:bawling:

IF you're holding on to it that long then I'd go with PROOF and get it graded either by PCGS or NGC.

Tell ya what I'm gonna do, son. I'm gonna make you a deal you can't refuse. But both, and I will store them safely, free of charge, while you decide.
